Personally, this is one of my favorite things I've consumed in the past few months, start to finish it was just absolutely beautiful. I spent 56 minutes reading them back to back in one sitting yesterday and just, wow, the artstyle, the story, the aliens, the tech, they were all so awesome.
Now personally, I love the artstyle, mainly Volume 2's style, not sure how to describe it but it just looks...comic booky? I guess, it just is peak. I read both volumes online so the transition from one artstyle to another was weird, like, very weird, but I didn't mind it.
The story is just awesome, its just a cooler Blue Beetle, my only complaint is that it went by just a little too fast when it transitioned from Zack testing out the suit to him getting abducted by the Geldarians, but that asides its truly a great story for such a short series.
I liked volume 2 a lot when he was fighting the Invincible variants and absolutely stomped two of them (with, of course, him being stuck in the hospital for months) I think it's just cool seeing that.
The characters were great too, Zack, his dad, his mom, the Geldarians, Null, I loved them all. I think Null getting thrown into the Sun is just wicked, super cool and I loved it, reminded me a lot when Cooler also got thrown into the sun and got absolutely obliterated.
Now, don't get me wrong, I love Blue Beetle as much as the next guy but personally Tech Jacket was just a bit more cooler than the Scarab, the propulsion jet thingy, the helmet, the 2nd version when he gets a new upgraded suit at the end of the story was just so cool, I loved it, and I kinda wish I had one irl because it's just that cool.
Unfortunately that is all I have to say about Tech Jacket (2003), I give it an absolutely deserved 10 out of 10 rating. No complaints from me, just perfection all around the board.
